If you have Windows, click the My Computer icon on your desktop.
Open up the folder for your first hd.
Open up the folder for your second hd.
(I just do it in Windows Explorer-not the internet one- and see them both at the same time.)
Click on the file you want to move, hold it down and drag it from one window to the other window.

If all the files are in a row, click the top one, hold shift and click the bottom one. That will highlight all of them.
If the files are on the same page but different places, click the first one to highlight it, then hold Ctrl and click the next one, to highlight the two but not the ones between.

1. Make sure 1st HD and 2nd HD is connected with Data Cable.

2. Restart your system.

3. Press the asked button on the screen to enter the System Configutaion details (SETUP). (Varies on processors / computers)

4. Make sure that your new connected HD (2nd HD) as primary Slave and 1st HD as Primary master. If not, then scroll the list in secondary slave to select your new connected HDD.

5. Save and exit

6. Now open 'My Computer', partitions in the 2nd HD will be displayed there. You can copy and paste with various partitions each other.

Thank you

One fast way is to right click on the file you want to transfer, then select send to and a list should open. Select the 2nd HD F and the file will be copied to the 2nd HD F. If in the list you do not see your 2nd HD then click on My Computer icon on your desktop and check if the 2nd HD. If you can, open two small windows, one for your 1st HD and one for your 2nd HD. Right click on the file you wish to transfer, select cut and copy it on the 2nd HD or you can click on the file you want to transfer, hold the button down and drag the file to the 2nd HD.

Make sure you follow the legend on the top of the drive that says MASTER or SLAVE. turn the computer off. open the side up. Take the ribbon that's connected to the present HD in the computer and put it into the second hard drive. Make sure the HD that will boot up is master and the one you just put in is SLAVE. Turn the computer on.

Once in windows go to My Computer. Admire your second hard drive. Get a drink of water. Think how life is good. Start copying files. Put a mini pizza in the toaster oven. Wait 5 minutes. Eat it. Go back to the computer. Copy more files.

Once you are done turn the computer off. Disconnect the hard drive.

Windows XP has a file migration tool

System Mechanic pro has a file migration tool

Ghost 10 can be used

DO NOT simply copy and paste programs. moving them like that will relocate them but will not affect changes to the registry. This means that you may not be able to use it at either location.

Make a backup image before you do anything.

I have two hard drives in my computer. One I use for my music and photos and storage. I put an icon on my desktop for easy access. Anything I wanted to move to the new HD I just dragged and dropped to the new icon. Or you could left click whatever you want moved and then click send to, then choose from the drop down box where you want to send it.

I certainly did not send everything from my C drive to the new HD.

Do you currently have Windows installed? If you do, when you load Windows you should be able to see both drives, in that case you can just click and drag the files to their desired destination.
