You should have kept your address in your home country and your bank account, set up direct deposit, and not told your gov't you were moving abroad.

It all depends on where you are a legal resident (which country). Were you originally in the US? What benefits were you getting (from which agency). Even though your dr. suggested that you live abroad,he doesn't overrule the govt. unfortunately. Have you completely given up US citizenship? First you need to contact the original agency that was issuing your benefits. Find out what their protocol is on the matter. Then if you can't get it straightened out that way, each agency should have an appeal process. But I honestly, if you are no longer in the US then you are probably not going to have much luck there. But try that first! Then you have a few other options afterwards, you can contact an attorney that specializes in this type of situation, move back to the US (most likely the easiest way honestly), or find info. about the country you are living in see if they have any programs that may help. If you are still legally a US citizen I doubt the current country of residence will be of much help. Good luck!

You went to the wrong place. Too late now to tell you that you should have done your homework first so I won't. You are now in the real world with the rest of the outsiders.
But you are lucky. You still have the right kind of passport. Get back home, and see what you can do from there. And praise the lord you aren't Somali.

That depends where you're from and where you moved to. If you're a UK citizen and are entitled to incapacity / disability benefit for life, you should be able to move anywhere within the Eu and still claim your benefits.
I was surprised to find that you can actually move to some of the carribean islands and still claim because they are still under french rule, so count as France!!

Your doctor would have advised you that it would be of benefit to you health wise, not financially. It was up to you or your family to make sure of your financial security. You cant blame anyone for your lack of funds.I am sorry but the ball is firmly in your court.

Stick a turban on your head, pretend you can't speak English, tell them you got a wife and ten kids waiting to come over and loads of family too. Tell them you have no skills and you like three bedroom houses and hey presto, your back here with loads of benefits thrown in.

You shouldn't have moved abroad without a financial plan. I'm afraid you will have to move back home to resume your benefit payments. It's harsh but thats your only option xx
