I laughed.
Yes, it's tragic. But oh, the irony. Mr. Wildlife getting stabbed in the heart by a stingray? Priceless.
Yes, I know I sound crass. I'm not always like this, but it is, nonetheless, a dark spot on the nature of who I am. I don't wish bad on anyone, and I truly feel for his family and friends to have had a loved one taken so suddenly and freakishly from them. I'm no stranger to loss. But look at it this way, if we all get depressed and mopey when something bad happens, where would the laughter be in the world--even the laughter that comes from happy thoughts, not ironic freak accidents?

It's so sad how it happened (he was swimming over a stingray buried in the sand and it got scared) because stingrays are very gentle animals and only raise their stinger if they feel threatened. There have only been 3 deaths because of stingrays in Australia's recorded history.
Steve Irwin leaves behind a legacy for environmental protection that will live on. I feel so sorry for his wife and children, especially for his children because they're too young to understand this. I heard this morning that he was being filmed when he died... I hope they have the sense never to show that.

nicely, that's what he gets for invading the stingray's territory with a good number of cameras and etc. It became certain to ensue with each and all of the risky exploits he's been on. RIP Steve Irwin. :(

Very sad. The only small consolation is it happened so fast that he didn't suffer. The Labor Day holiday eight years ago gave the world another untimely deathly blow with Lady Diana's loss.
My condolences to Terri, Bindi Sue, and little Bob.

I am not sad for Steve Irwin's death. Sure, it sucks that he's gone, but he went down like a real man - getting his a.s.s. kicked by wildlife. That is the way how our ancestors kicked it. Too many men nowadays die from pansy-a.s.s. causes, like high cholesterol or having a heart attack while whacking it at the age of 92.
