variety to offer. David is a very strong and creative designer, however I am a bit worried about his ability to not have every design he does look alike. Afraid this could be his downfall. I loved his room over Alice's, but think in the long run Alice will provide me with more diversity. What do you think?

David. I don't think everything he does looks alike, although he does have a definite aesthetic. Actually, it reminds me a lot of Vern Yip's work on Trading Spaces!
That rec room/basement was a true test of his ability to make his very sophisticated and elegant palate work for kids and parents in suburbia....and the Glass House challenge was absolutely brilliant in taking into account the structure itself, the views from every angle and the mood that was established.
Don't get me wrong, I like Alice, but she's a bit too mainstream for me. Her solutions look pretty much like showrooms you would find in chain stores....it does the job, but there's nothing unique or distinctive. Which means less reason to tune in to her show. Whereas I think in David's you at least walk away thinking of how you can adapt some of the ideas, even if you don;t want or can't do it in its entirety.
Lastly, it seems to just be me, but Alice's voice is a bit grating. I know the judges have all fallen all over themselves with how much of a natural she is in front of the camera, but I just think if she's going to be so extremely Southern then maybe that should be part of her overall design personality--like Paula Deen for food on the Food Network. David at least comes off like the formally trained artist and stylish guy that he is....really, a guy with true star quality!

I thought I had missed the finale. Anyway - I think Alice will win because of her variety. I agree with you about David - I like him and all, but I think Alice has more overall appeal.
