Just because someone has a covering on a body part does not make it not part of the body. You mean to say you can not shake someones hand if you are wearing a glove. Can not crack you head on the sidewalk if you slip while wearing a hat. He stepped Foot on the moon, not bare foot but it was still his foot. What, you think the boot was empty?

Frank Borman, Jim Lovell and William Anders flew past the moon in Apollo 8 over Christmas 1968.
Neil Armstrong and Edwin 'Buzz' Aldrin were the first man to land on the moon on July 20th 1969 in the Apollo 11 mission.
Neil Armstong set foot on the surface 6-hours after landing, with Aldrin following some moments later.
