Alot of stores have a petite section. Some malls have stores that only sell petite clothing, as referenced by their names. Most people incorrectly assume that petite means slender but it actually means vertically challenged.

Jeans and pants will often be sized petite/short, average, tall/long. If those are still too long, capris work great as long pants.

Alot of people who are in need of petite clothing, just have short legs. But some people may have short torsos instead or in addition to. In which case, you can also find those in the petite section.

Just shop around and see what looks best on you.

First, I want to share this very important rule: dress your AGE, NOT your size. That means you should NOTshop in the kid's section, ever, unless you are a kid. Also, don't let people give you kid's clothes as gifts. If you are a teen, shop the junior section. If you are a grown woman, shop in the Women's section.

That said... I find that I cannot wear long skirts. To lengthen the legs, choose skirts that are just above the knee. For shorts, go even shorter.
The Gap, while expensive, carries jeans in the "Ankle" (short!) length which I love.

Note: If you have a curvy body, look for clothes in EVEN numbered sizes (6, 8, 10, etc.) These are known as "misses" and are made for women with curves. ODD numbered sizes (5, 7, 9, etc.) are known as "juniors" and are made for slender girls who aren't so curvy. Of course, this does not apply if you are a kid who can't wear a size 1/2 yet!!! If that's the case, don't worry your day will come soon enough.

Flare pants with a thin shoe, like a pointed boot, this extends the length of your leg. Also, wear dark jeans.

Vertical stripes on bottom and solids on top. Mid-calf skirts or capris but be careful with the length.
