i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

Myself and family have watched him for many years and we all thought that one day he would die from one of the animals. Though I never thought it would be a sting ray!! And he didn't provoke it. I thought it might be a croc that would get him. He was truly talented with the animals and he did very educational showsl Prayers to Terri and his small children though I do believe that they will carry on what Steve loved doing.

Did he? Am I just seeing him in re-runs now? I am surprised - I always thought he had a bunch of sharp shooters or guys with Plexiglas cages standing behind him to take the danger out of those "stupid people tricks."

You're right. I thought that too. I was surprised today though. He's still young and he really got himself out of some close calls. I guess he went the way he would have wanted to.

I always felt he took way to many chances to get the exciting segments for his shows. Unfortunately he pushed the evelope a little too much.

Yep, saw it coming. He was asking for it. It was the animal kingdom's revenge. Very sad though, I feel terrible for his family.

I never seen any of his shows, but his FedEx commercial seems strangely ironic now...
