You should try to manage your day so that you go to bed at the same time each night and wake up at the same time each morning (even if you don't have a morning class). Our bodies love consistency and, actually, there is no way to "catch up" on your sleep.
Are you allowed a "George Foreman" grill? They are wonderful because you can make grilled cheese and burgers, etc. Don't use it if they are not allowed in the dorm.
If you have a fridge and a microwave you are limited in what you can cook. If your microwave didn't come with a cookbook, go to a bookstore and see if there are microwave recipe books for people who are single. There are lots of things that can actually be cooked in a microwave and the cooking instructions are important because you need to time the cooking of the food differently than you do when using a regular oven. Keep up with your salads and fresh fruits and vegetables.

I would recommend going to bed earlier so it will make it easier on you to wake up earlier. I just started college this year, and I want all the sleep I can get...but then again I have a one year old son added to the equation.
As for food, try rotating your food choices with things like sandwiches, hot pockets, "some" frozen dinners, and if you have enough money eat at the college cafeteria once or twice a week. Just don't buy only frozen dinners and don't try to eat only sandwiches and so on b/c when things get really old to you, you begin to rather go without than to eat it. Good Luck. Just remember: you need to eat well and be healthy to do your best in school.

It is a good idea to begin to alter your sleeping patterns a couple of days before you move back to college. You don't have to start a week ahead but a few days before definitely helps. Since I'm assuming that you will be living away from home, you'll have to get adjusted to a new bed and "college" sleeping hours, but at least you'll be prepared.
Yes, frozen dinners can start to get boring after a while. A good idea is to purchase a good cookbook with recipes that are quick and easy to make. Visit a grocery or supermarket and stock up on foods you enjoy and also foods that are healthy. Alas, you can always have friends in apartments cook for you, they usually won't mind and would enjoy your company.

Your best bet is to gradually adjust your sleep pattern over the next week. Nothing drastic.
Frozen dinners suck, but there's a lot you can do with a little...
Get an electric grille. You can grille chicken breasts, make paninis, roast peppers, etc.
Microwave frozen vegetables, rather than frozen dinners. The heat in the bag ones are pretty good.
Fruits - no cooking required.
Many pastas and pre-packaged rices can be cooked quite well in the microwave, just watch the cooking time carefully.

You should try to alter your sleep patterns for sure. Consistency of sleep is much more important than hours of sleep, though hours is important too. As for food, if you have a fridge I would say to eat as much fresh food as possible. Keep tons of veggies and fruits, they are very healthy and don't need to be cooked. I have had success with frozen burritos, microwave ramen, and soups like chunky soup. Good luck!

You should start your college sleep schedule now so that your body will be adjusted and ready to go by the time school starts. Purchase some healthy wraps that come in whole grain, tomato and a variety of other flavors. You can fill them with sandwich meat and veggies, also beans and vegetarian choices. If you have a full kitchen take the time to prepare foods on the weekend, your favorite soup, baked chicken etc. Store in individual containers, so that it's ready to go. Check out all recipes.com. Good luck!

Go to the library or book store and buy 1 book that you find very interesting and read it now. If you finish it and still have time before college, go get another one. When I was in college I read and read and read out side of class. The books I was assigned to read were not as interesting to me as the out side reading material was.
This college time will be a mind expanding adventure. I wish you the best of luck.

1. Depends on your schedule. Do you have early morning classes? Just try to have 7-8 hours of sleep.
2. Try instant noodles,PBJ sandwiches, chinese food/pizza takeout(expensive as hell), or eat at fast food restaurants.
