Someone has scored a century in an ODI.

Belinda Clark 229* - Australia vs Denmark (http://www.cricinfo.com/link_to_database/ARCHIVE/WORLD_CUPS/WWC97/AUS-WOMEN_DNMRK-WOMEN_WWC97_WODI18_16DEC1997.html)

Greame Pollock scored a double in domestic ODI, 60 over match, but he came to the crease in the 12th over.

I have no double that someone will. Apart from Sehwag, there is no cricketer currently playing ODI cricket that is capable of doing it.

Unbroken record since last ten years or so is by S. Anwar's 194 against India in India... (In India Independence cup which was finally won by Sri Lanka defeating Pakistan)

I am not a witch so i cant exactly say who or when and for sure no others can do either...But we all can do is to predict and ofcourse based on the current ODI system, it is possible for someone to score a double century (20 overs powerplay comparing to the 15 overs before)...Players who could go for this would be...

1. Sanath Jayasuriya (He near missed this chance once he played against India)
2. M. Dhoni (If he open the innings)
3. R. Ponting
4. A. Ghilchrist
5. V. Shewag

I there are many players who has the potential to score double century, I strongly feel that it is quite unlikely that any player will score a double century in one day cricket as the batwill be concentrating to score quick runs once settled down in the interest of the team rather than play defensive cricket to achieve personal land mark of 200 runs

Ricky Ponting, Mathew Hayden and Mohammed Yousuf are more likely to score the only 200 in ODI.

These players may reach the achievement when they meet in India for the ICC trophy. I have more trust on these three players because not only they have stamina to play longer innings but also they are patient run scorers.

It is very likely that some one may score double century. The openers like Sehavag, Strauss, Heydan and Dhoni though he is not opener at present but gets 40 odd over to bat. They have ability to score double ton. Lady luck should also smile at either of them.

Well after that big runs scoring match between SA and AUS, G. Smith was on a role b4 he got out for 90, both Gibbs an Ponting also had chances but threw it away, Out of current players? i don't know who can get one, Gayle is not one because he cannot score at a continuous fast rate without throwing away his wicket, if Lara was younger, maybe, not sure bout Gilchrist or afridi, but i mite put some $ on ponting gettin one!

It is bound to happen sometime, and when it does I got my money on Shahid Afridi, who has hit the fastest century in less than 40 balls.
