Now don't get me wrong, I have no problem with Britain. But for many years they have owned the northren section of Ireland. The people of Ireland, and some British ( think Paul McCartney) have pushed for N. Ireland to join the rest of the nation, but Britain has refused. Also, Britain is home to a devolping muslim culture of extremism. Terrorists are arrested there on aweekly basis, and it's only a matter of time before something happens their again if the proper precautions aren't taken. But if GWB, who supposedly stands for freedom, doesn't speak up on these issues, how can he possibly stand for freedom. Could it be he fears he will lose his only ally? That that won't benefit him? That their isn't any oil there? what do you think ( Citizens of Britain, I repeat again, I have no problems with your country, I'm just trying to make a point here:)

Bush doesn't know what he stands for himself. He simply does not know what he is doing. When his first excuse for invading Iraq was seen through he simply came up with a new one. Now he will not back off for nothing. Because if he did it would be like admitting he was wrong. Which apparently he doesnt plan on doing.

Because Britain is a sovereign nation. Invading a sovereign nation is bad, kids. There is extremism in every country - including the US. Or don't the KKK and "pro-life" bombers count as extremists because they're not Muslims?

Britain's conduct in Northern Ireland has been pretty dire - but Britain is giving the Northern Irish the chance to have a devolved government to decide their own affairs, just like in Scotland and to some extent Wales. It is not the problem of the British government that Sinn Fein and the Ulster Unionists can't agree on ANYTHING - once they can form a government then they could instigate a referendum as to whether to join Eire or not - exactly the same as every other former British colony. If the British government started one then it would be held as being illegitimate.

If Dubya stands for freedom then isn't it just the tiniest bit of hypocrisy to invade a country and deny the population their freedom, a population who on the whole SUPPORTS the US just because there are some issues with extremism? If the US invaded there would be a MASSIVE resistance to US rule. Can't you learn ANYTHING from Iraq?

Northern Ireland is not a part of free Ireland because the people who live there overwhelmingly voted to not join. A small minority disagreed and have since made a lot trouble (often violent) trying to force Great Britain to yield to them. Britain has frequently stated that they will help Northern Ireland to join the Irish Republic if the people living in northern Ireland vote to do so. Up to now, they have not.

Because for right now he can use the British to make it seem like he as a multicultural backing. Also historically the US has strong ties with Britain. It would take a major disagreement to break the ties. And last but not least, Britain owns a heck of a lot of US companies and industry.

i locate myself positioned off via this as well, and that i'm a Bush supporter. I even haven't any challenge with the church education the congregation on the topic matters and then retaining "Vote your unsleeping", yet no longer pretty tell the congregation which candidate to vote for.
