Tennessee gave long-time backup Billy Volek the reigns through three preseason games, and he didn't fare well.
So the Titans went and got the best veteran quarterback still available, signing Kerry Collins, who's likely to be the starter on opening day against the Jets.

The team formerly known as the Houston Oilers signed a running QB a few years back by the name of Steve McNair. Steve sat on the bench for about 2 or 3 years before he started. I predict a similar, although not identical, outcome. Unless Collins gets hurt or is completely ineffective, I predict Vince will be on the bench for more than a minute.

Collins will start until he starts having mental lapses on the field like he did in Oakland. Then Fisher will let Young and Volek share some snaps after game 3 or 4.

Collins. Young is still a project. He's not done learning the playbook whereas Collins is a seasoned vet who will be able to grasp the terminology quicker.
