Semen coagulates within seconds after ejaculation and then liquefies or decoagulates about 15-40 minutes later. As any other liquid it then dry out slowly till to leave a yellow stain. If your "dry up" meant "to fade", the sperm production never stop until men are alive! While aging or illnesses only bring a lower volume, of course.
