Typically, the answer is going to be no. The cost of living is rising faster than people's income and the generation that just started into their careers are expected to be the first generation of Americans -ever- whose standard of living is projected to be lower than their parents.

If you mean financially, then yes, I am slightly better off. Overall, I would say no - the higher income that I have now is due mainly to the fact that I now have a job that, although it is a slightly higher salary, requires 20+ hours of overtime each week.

Yes, much. I finally took my head out of my @$$ and sold my house in Florida where the cost of living was getting so out of hand that your average work-a-day person couldn't survive on salaries that went up .25/hr once a year. I moved to SC where I was able to pay cash for a house. I paid off my credit cards and started my own business. I am now debt free and much happier. I am not rich, but my quality of life is greatly improved.

No way. No way in hell....are you kidding me??? They keep raising my taxes....the price of gasolinge.....my healthe insurance premiums alone have skyrocketed more each year than my raises.....If I get a 3% raise on average, per year, and inflation is 4%, and my gas to heat my home goes up 25% and gasoline more than that, and my health insurance premiums about 25% per year??? How can I get ahead??? I keep getting behind, and having to work more to keep the same lifestyle.
