For the past five years, I have celebrated Thanksgiving by cooking the meal at church (Unitarian) for folks who either don"t have families nearby, or don"t want to cook, but want to celebrate or eat a great meal. I cook turkeys, ham, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing (3 kinds), cranberry sauce, fruit salad and green beans. The guests bring salad, bread, pies, wine, etc.
Afterward, we play board games and watch football on TV. It always feels very festive and friendly, and we always go home stuffed as a Thanksgiving turkey!
Merry Cranberry!

In the UK and Ireland we have no relevant Thanksgiving Day. It is a pity - it sounds wonderful. Have a great day (albeit a couple of months away) and many happy returns...........
