My relatives will be here for a week by end of this month. Though I've been working here in Singapore for months now, I haven't gone out to see all tourists spots (just Sentosa and Singapore zoo as yet). Where do you think and recommend should I accompany them to? They are already in their late 30s and I don't seem to feel they'd enjoy going to Clark Quay given their age group and preference. Please help!

Hi! I'm Singaporean, The following information was based on my foreign clients favourite place of interest in Singapore...

I just list a few places of attraction...

Place of interest
a) Singapore Zoo/Night Safari - http://www.zoo.com.sg
b) Jurong Bird Park - http://www.birdpark.com.sg
c) Singapore Botanic Garden - http://www.sbg.org.sg/index.asp
d) Sentosa - http://www.sentosa.com.sg
e) NEWater Visitor Centre - http://www.pub.gov.sg/NEWater_files/index.html
f) Little India ~ As you step into Little India, be prepared for an overpowering of the senses! First, you will be greeted by the strong, heady scent of spices and jasmine garlands, followed by the treasure trove of silverware, brassware, ethnic jewelry and colourful silk saris, dazzling to behold...
g) Chinatown ~ Not all parts of Chinatown are Chinese though. The Al Abrar Mosque along Telok Ayer Street, and the Jamae Mosque and Sri Mariamman Temple along South Bridge Road lay witness to the harmonious racial and religious atmosphere in Singapore...
h) Kampong Glam ~ was the historic seat of Malay royalty in Singapore. Today, the former Istana Kampong Glam (Sultan’s palace) has been converted into a heritage museum, the Malay Heritage Centre, to showcase the rich history and culture of Singapore’s Malay community...

And U might bring them for shopping at Marina Area... Or Orchard Road if they like... But if U are familiar with Singaporre nighbourhood town... U might bring them there e.g Toa Payoh, Tampines, Bedok...

Hi, as you know you can spend plenty of time atthe zoo, and even the night zoo too. Nearby is the Mandai Orchid Garden, nice to have a look at orchid cultivation for export.

Then the Jurong Bird Park. I like the open aviary where you can walk among different species of birds. My favourite, the Birds of Paradise where the rare birds are within your view. Love their plumage.

Sentosa is another day of activity, which you are already familiar. Make sure they stay for the night musical fountain show. My favourite.

Chinatown is a place to sightsee and shop. The colours are plenty and the food around there too.

Bring them for a seafood dinner at East Coast. Food and atmosphere will be pleasant for some nice dining.

The Botanical Gardens has been newly renovated, so will make good spending time. TheRose Garden and Orchid Nursery will be good. And some weekend, there might be live music at the fountain too.

How about Clark Quay on weekend with the flea market? There are sights and river rides and shopping and food all in that place. Nice to know a bit of Singapore history there too.

The Merlion Park at the Singapore River in the evening or night is quite pleasant. Then a walk to the Esplanade and the waterfront area for the cityscape view of Singapore.

Orchard Road? Funan Centre? Sim Lim Square? Some shopping?

But they need to like to walk and sweat ......
