Apparently your friend is really immature for getting upset with such a joke. He really doesn't have sense of humour, so I'd stay away from such friend. You can talk to him, but don't get involved too much, like putting too much caring in this friendship...sooner or later he would get upset again and you don't need someone whom you'd feel stressed around, like "I think that what I've just said made him get upset once again". Friends should first have the sense of humour and then if you tell him smth, he should consider it. And if he goes, you don't miss anything. You can find a better friend. If all your friends protected that guy saying you were wrong, it means they r a bit short minded and really living in the Stone Age. Since when people are not allowed to make an innocent joke about a girl?

You need to sit down and talk about it if you want to be good friends again. Tell him you were just saying as a joke because you knew he liked her looks. You could tell his brother the same thing. It has been a while since this happened.

Tell him how you feel. You may never be as good friends as you use to be. Just be there for him if he wants to talk.

Since you knew your friend could get in trouble with his parents for 'liking a girl' why would you go and tell his brother (especially since little brothers and sisters ultimately tattle to their parents)? You hurt your friend's feelings and he likely no longer felt he could trust you, so he stopped talking to you. But... he apparently missed the friendship you two once had so he tried to make amends. And instead of being his good friend again, you go off and tell him that you didn't do anything wrong. But in reality you did. Friends don't rat on friends unless their physical or emotional health is in danger. They don't humiliate or embarrass their friends in front of others either. Maybe it's time you put yourself in this guy's shoes and understand how it must feel to be him. It really wasn't funny what you did. Admit to that and maybe you'll understand the true meaning of friendship.

You probably meant this all in fun, but, you don't know what happened when he got home!!!! It sounds like his brother probably said something when they got home and he got in trouble with his parents. You could always try thinking before you speak, that always helps. As far as you thinking that you didn't do anything wrong, you should apologize, its no wonder he doesn't speak much to you now, he doesn't know what you will say next and get him into trouble again. Again, think before you speak!!! It helps!!!

Well I guess you lost a friend. He will be like he used to be, but just give him time. But next time try not to joke around like that.

It all seems a little petty but if apologizing will help things along, just do it. You can word it like, "Im sorry if what I said made you mad or got you in trouble". Thats not apologizing for saying it...really.

Better just be casual or neutral about him. He is not your friend and he is not your enemy.
Maker friends with other people.. lots of them.. why worry about this one only.
