Its only about 6 months old and had made this noise for the last 2-3 months, i have tried levelling it properly incase that was the cause but to no joy.

It should still be under some warranty. Call the number of the place you bought it and ask them about it. I seem to recall ours doing that before we moved and it was the ice maker. It needed replaced or some line into the ice maker needed replaced.......

Depending on what Brand it is and where you purchased it, it should still be under Warranty. Have it checked out. The motor mounts may be loose and need tightening if no other symptoms are apparent, or it may not have the proper amount of motor lubricant to be protecting the moving parts of the motor.

I hope you have insurance on it as it sounds like its about to pack in. Call the manufacturers and get them to come out.
