I'm looking to set up my own digital music store? Does anyone know how to get Sony / BMI /Warner to sell me tracks on a wholesale basis and allow me to sell them to customers?

If you have the capital and an excellent presentation of what you'd like to do, I am sure that if you contacted these companies, they would have the best answers for you. Make a potfolio of ideas that you would like to have your website looking like and the different ways it will function. The best website for downloading music is one that is user-friendly. The easier it is for your customer to get what they want, the more return customers you will have. By the way, these companies will not sell you these songs on a wholesale basis. These songs are meant to generate the companies and the bands royalties. If they sell you a song it is for your own personal use. If you begin selling that song, it is without their permission, against copyright and therefore, very much illegal. You could move to Canada, we seem to get away with downloading free music, because if they searched our computers, it would be against our privacy rights. If they suspect you of having child pornography, that's a whole different story that makes me glad that pedofilia does not run in my blood. But that is besides the point, I hope this helps you out.

YOU first need to buy their LICENSES, from them cost alto, but if you give them a DRUM of JAMAICAN RUM AND A BOX OF CUBAN CIGARS, they might give you a break on the cost of the licenses,, so good luck.
