4 yrs old. Well my son is now 7 and here in Florida you have to be 4yrs just to be in the league. When they are 4 they are just learning the rules of how the game is really played, but when they turn 5 they will be more into it because this is there second year and now they can have more fun since they know more about the game and how to play it. It also helps there minds expands a little more and they will do better in school. This is from playing any sports at a young age.

You can start them playing in your backyard at about 2 so that they know a little before they start in the league. Most leagues have a minimum age limit of 4.

I would wait until the age of 5. Many people start them earlier, but I suggest working with them as a parent until they reach at least 5. I started both of my kids in sports at the age of 6 and they were not behind any of the kids that started earlier.

Age 5. he/she learns to hit the ball while it is at the proper height. After hitting the ball, the player runs to his/her base. This teaches the players how how to run the bases.

I played at 5. Around when your child enters Kindergarten would probably work best.
