We have a GE Profile that was overfilling the tray and dumping the water all over the inside of the freezer creating a sheet of ice on the walls and over the frozen foods. We, thankfully, have an extended warranty and when the service person came out, he found that the filter on the back of the fridge that is connected to the water line had gone bad and was allowing too much water to flow through. He changed the filter, cleaned out the ice sheets and cleaned out the line to the supply and we haven't had the problem since. I have to admit, I think the filter was over a year old and we're supposed to change it semi-annually.

check for level first. next look for the shut off inside the freezer, it has to be some kind of a float i would think. next get the model number and try looking at www.repairclinic.com for parts to see what they look like.
