Inspiration is everywhere in the world, and is constant if you are open to receive it. It's easy to turn away from such things and say that they are mere coincidences, or they have nothing to do with you. What do you do when you feel drained and uninspired? What is it that keeps you motivated? What speaks to you, calls out to you?

Sometimes, like just now, I feel uninspired, just wanting to lie down. But if one of my children (grandsons or sons, granddaughters) or my husband asks my help, or if they invite me for lunch or for a stroll, it lifts me up and I get up of the couch (or the computer) and run to meet them! I think it is the feeling of being needed by people I love that calls out to me.

I am a member of the Cloud Appreciation Society, so clouds often inspire me...www.cloudappreciationsociety.org/

Also, poetry about clouds...

"I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;

Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced;
but they Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed---and gazed---but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils"
Wordsworth

Nature generally, science also as there is as much beauty in science to, philosophy and literature are standards also.

At times I feel drained and uninspired is usually on days that are unfavourable in working through circumstances that are beyond my control. I have adapted myself to accept there is only 24 hours in a day, and tomorrow is another opportunity to work through them. In order for me to do that, the best thing I can do for myself is rest. I therefore create a peaceful atmosphere and create "my spa" within my budget...lol! I take a luxurious bubble bath, using my favourite scent/s and display lit candles also scented and allow "Calgon" to take me away! I was fortunate enough to win a portable DVD player, enabling me to listen to my favourite tunes while soaking in the tub. My music includes positive songs. I find that is usually enough to set the stage for a good night sleep. I am a very creative individual and indulge in painting, woodworking, yard work, reading and researching areas where others have the same interest. I usually hook up with those I know and keep an open mind to meet others. I have found that within my talents I can create something to help brighten someones cloudy day, and/or simply sharing that talent with them, will inspire them to try. That is my reward, and my inspiration, knowing my efforts made someones world a little bit better, I soak up having witnessed their joy like a big human sponge...I love it! Thanks for asking.

Inspiration is everywhere, our lives
as we live them, our past experiences,
Nature in motion, or even someone who
is so dear to ones life. There their light may
show you the way for inspiration because
when you think of them you manifest such
economy of inferences which create originality
and emphasis on life that even if you think you
are drained of motivation a spark from an itty
bitty pattern of another way can boost ones
rhythm and rhyme of inspiration to place one
in the creative hypnotic state of receiving inspiration
for discovery and seeing analogies where there
were none before. What calls out to me is the way
of Nature and all the archetypes and symbols with
resonances ever so appealing and my dear light
who keeps me with a spark so i may continue with the
best attitude i can present to the world in front of me ..
So that any legacy i leave behind will be because
of one special Favorite shinning light of jOy who
just by thinking or beholding her image can enlighten
me ever so brightly with inspiration ..

Mmm. Good question. What drives me onwards.
Beauty, appreciation and love.
Lets begin.
Beauty is everywhere in the world, it pervades even the darkest of situations and even in hopelessness a beauty shines through in the form of tragedy. Romeo and Juliette is a beautiful story in spite of the outcome of tragedy. If you can fully appreciate beauty in every facet and every myriad aspect of existence then your onto something bigger. We can see beauty in the learning experience of bad things. We can see beauty in the small things when circumstances take away the bigger things (health, job, family)-i guarantee you that those who cannot walk feel a deeper beauty in the simplicity of a footstep or the joy in a leap. Then there is "the greater joy" the joy of simply existing. When we see how rare and precious and precarious life actually is we learn to see the beauty in even the ugliest and meanest forms of it. When we see beaty in the world, then and only then can we appreciate the world.
Appreciation is everywhere WITHIN our world. If it were not we would not now be in existence, we would have found a reason rather not to live. Therefore we must see some good in living. Let me tell you something. Now lean in closer to the screen while i spell this out to ok;
WE ALL REVEL IN LIFE
If this simple fact were not true then we'd have commited suicide along the way but while there is even one single tiny thing we've smiled at or cried over or laughed to we APPRECIATE the fact that we are here. I appreciate life so much. I love the drinking DEEP of life, right down to the marrow and beyond. I'll gnaw it like an old bone. I cannot get enough of the thing. I appreciate everything i have, everything thats possible and everything thats gone before. The good in life is a beautiful joy and the bad in life is a beautiful tragedy. It is beautiful and i appreciate every breathe i take and give. That makes me LOVE life.
LOVE; more songs, more poems, more books and more films have been created about love than any other topic. Keep it simple and you will shine it in every step. Keep it fresh and you give it in every glance. Keep it renewed and you will take it in every embrace. I love life so much and i love death as the completion of life too. It isn't the end-its only the completion. Like a story needs an end for it not to be dragged out so we need death not to be worn thin.
Love drives us beyond ourselves, it even gives us reason to self sacrifice. Love is the greatest thing in existence yet it does not ACTUALLY exist. It is the greatness in the fact that existence is greater than the sum of its parts. And us. Without love we are birds with broken wings. Without love life is not lived and a fate worse than death. But dont give up those of you who read this and are sad in your aloneness. There is love EVERYWHERE in everything we do and everyone we meet. Love is engraved in the spirit of all existence. If you've made it far enough in life to be able to read this then you HAVE been loved, you do appreciate existence and there is beauty in your world.
These simple yet unspoken and ununderstood truths are what drive me on. They drive us all on in various forms, we just dont look hard enough sometimes to see we have all we need in life to drive us wherever we wish to go.
Find this in your life;
Find beauty in yur world, appreciate it and love the world and all in it as a result and you will be happy and giving and loving for all your long or short years. Realize this that YOU ARE LOVE.

Ah, I don't feel like doing anything on my birthday. Too hard to think but okay I'll try. When I feel absorbed from the outside world, I try to find something that I can drench myself in. What keeps me motivated is my reason to strive to continue in life. What keeps me living and interested. I think the answers around us speak to us, giving us hints to actually find them in the mist. Once you've captured that answer, you can keep it. Finders keepers, losers weepers.

My first inspiration is believing in myself. The power of WILL can seriously turn oneself into positiveness from negativeness. This also includes praying and thanking GOD for the gift of will, strength, grace and so forth.
