It certainly is. Soon it will not even be recognizable as the land of King Arthur. The land of Caliph Muhammed maybe.

It's a shame, and even worse so since most British seem to welcome it with glee, and even use that fact to demonstrate their moral superiority or something. "Look at how tolerant we are! We are so tolerant we are committing suicide!"

No. i'm a community Briton, a Brythonic Celt. Our interest is warfare. So what if some yobs want a punch up and someone receives killed? Too undesirable. it truly is amazingly a lot component of British subculture, it truly is by technique of no means new. in the course of the London Blitz, thousands of Londoners looted shops and homes at the same time as the bombs were falling. So what's new then? some million immigrants will make no large difference. they could even take section. Edit: TheOrangeEvil above is fairly properly. If human beings do no longer have a feeling of belonging because their cultural ties to Britain are susceptible, then they could in no way ever connect this asylum that's now being run by technique of the inmates. a significant British cultural adventure will ensue right here in London on July 7 and eight 2007. it truly is termed "excursion de France" - a cycle race curiously. next large British adventure close to the position I stay, is the biggest Hindu Fest outside of India. Have pink, eco-friendly and blue powder thrown on your face. earnings from the elephants and so on. do not forget to deliver alongside your bucket and spade for the droppings that may bypass on the backyard. large droppings fairly.

Britain has always been multi-identity e.g. scot, english, welsh, gaelic etc. In addtion as there were periodic invasions they have always taken on elements of that culture, norse, roman etc. They also in the days of the "Empire" not only transported their cultuire aborad they took on elements of the countries they went to e.g. bungalows, cuisine, langauge etc, and brought it bsck with them. Conversely descendents of those occupied generations abroad, if they come here (as entitled) generally have a greater udnerstandign of British culture carried on from this period than present Britains. Countires like America, have thrived and developed on the talent, energy and all that they have to offer from numerous waves of immigration. In the past the UK also actively encouraged people from some countires to come nad work here, and still do for fields hard to meeet gaps.
Countiries and cultures, language etc conmstantly evolve, no country is exactly as it ws 200 years ago (language, cultuire, norms), many social norms have been broken down, or changed across everywhere.

Diversity can only be good. I would not describe immigration as a mess. It is often used as a code for "racism". I vewry much doubt there would be so much fuss if eveyone wanting to come here was white. People often too readilyu also confuse the issue of immigration and asylum/refuge (fleeing from persectuion and atrocities, which is sometimes only a temporary move).

Let us worry about the Mediteranean (Spain, Greece, Portugal, Cyprus etc), as lots of UK people appear to be moving or retiring there because of immigration to UK, with no self awarness they are doing the same to above, e.g. cannot speak language, have no skills etc, and are foreign!!!! Look at parts of Spain, Fish &Chips easily avaiable, what about their culture?

No it's not losing them although things are changing. Societies evolve and probably no decade in the last century would be identical to the one before or the one after. There is no doubt immigration has an impact but as that can be both negative and positive we are hopefully simply moving forwards in a socially balanced way.

YES! i have nothing whatsoever against people from different racial backgrounds, and i am more than happy to change the way i am when i am in a country of a different culture. Why then is it that we are changing all our laws and rules so we don't offend anyone who doesn't believe in the same thing??
You are no longer allowed to sing " Baa baa BLACK sheep" as it is considered racist. In schools, we are no longer allowed to go 'all out' at Christmas or Easter and if teachers find us to be exchanging Christmas cards personally (there is a box we have to put them in so as not to offend anyone), you will have a phone call home and will be in a lunch time detention! Its Political correctness gone mad!! I would expect people who immigrate to this country to have SOME respect for the way we live and what we believe in.
Finally, I think the way British people are treated at airports is shocking. We should take a leaf or two out of the Americans book. In America, all American citizens are allowed straight through passport control (obviously after being checked), and all other citizens are made to wait. Now in this country, British citizens are made to wait in mile-long Que's, and all other EU citizens are able to go through faster.
This country needs to learn to prioritise more and start putting the British citizens first and concentrate on making life slightly easier for us, instead of 'inviting' immigrants.

We have already lost it. The government states there isn't an immigration problem but in 2004 they predicated 15,000 immigrants a year coming into the UK. Now in 2006 a survey has been done and 500,000 a year enter the country. Because of this, and the over zealous enforcement of politicial correctness our national identity is being replacement by a mash of cultures, each of whom fight for supremacy and claim racism at every turn.

I really do not think they are losing there identity
because a British person will always say true to Britain at least 90%
During the world cup we saw this in display.

but looking at from another angle
having invaded half the world
Britain can not complain for having people form all works of life living in Britain
B/c when they invaded other countries
no body asked them to come

yes, unfortunately, we are.

I'm extremely proud to be British, but not proud of the way our great Nation is going. We need to kick out all illegal immigrants, and be more stringent on letting anyone in.

My Mum works in a Doctor's surgery in Kent and has had to hire Punjab and Kosovan translators because they have some immigrants coming in who don't speak ENGLISH in ENGLAND!

That sort of thing really irritates me. If you come to the UK, enter legally, leave when you are meant to, and if you want to stay here permanently, learn the lingo and adopt our traditions, not turn the UK into a little version of your home country. If you love your home country so much, go back to it!

yes it is, we have no culture anymore, yesterday i was reading how theres muslim schools and mosques being built!!!!If they come to our country they should live by our laws, go to our schools and practice their religion in the private of their own home. The thing that annoys me is if we went to their countries we'd be treated like dirt, mabye even killed. The problem is Tony Blair doesn't know when to say no. In some parts of England i feel like i'm the only british person there!! England should be full of British/American people but instead it's been turned into a free for all.

In the process, yes. Contributing to the problem is that 350,000 Britains a year are emigrating from Britain.
