Don't know never been there, I heard that it is beautiful.

I was in Costa Rica for 6-1/2 weeks in the Summer of 1981 on an exchange program from my university. I loved it there. Beautiful country. Las Playas de Manuel Antonio were magnificent. Volcanos. Lots of nature to see and admire. I stayed in San Jose, and the mountains around the city were majestic to look at. The people were very nice, and the county seemed very pro U.S. at the time, and had a very democratic form of government.
As for what other people in the U.S. think of Costa Rica, I think it is mostly known as a great tourist destination, and is admired for its beauty and natural wonders.

I don't know. I don't live in Costa Rica but I'm also curious . What do you think about this country?

I think Costa Rica is one of the great places to travel. I haven't any terrible news about the place and the people so I think we don't have to worry travelling in your country this time.
I would consider traveling there too when I get the chance...

I live next door. The little I've seen of it, I think some of the people are gringoing us gringos, which I resent. The government offered perks to get retired people to relocate there, then withdrew them.On the Caribbean side, the women think Anglo women are after their men. The way they treat their dogs is abhorrent. And they have no workable liability law. Found this out when I crushed my knee on an unlit stairway in a San Jose hotel. I'm hearing more and more about crime there, especially aimed at Anglos. It is, however, a beautiful country with some nice people in it.

i lived in mal pias and manzanillo,went to cobano alot 4 banking and partied alot in montazuma,i loved the people(tico) and the weather,fishing and sites,i hated the san jose,crime,traffic and smell,,if your around the area's i mentioned please get a hold of me swshewfelt@shaw.ca and say a hola for me at the mar azul,italiano's,mary's and ampario's.
