I don't know if "argue" is definitive in my case,,,debate certainly happens. I seem to live in chaos, and my best friend does as well, on alternate levels, and I always sense a state of distrust.
Certainly friends should be honest, and express opinions without degrading the other "friend"
If the "arguing" you speak of is degrading to either you or the "friend" then I suggest find another. If it's simple disagreements about beliefs, etc., then find other avenues of conversation and ways to relate. No one feels, act, believes, expresses, exactly the same as anyone else, and that's OK!

Not anymore. My best friend and I have been friends for 9 years. When we were younger and we spent every second together, we argued a lot. Now that we are adults, we hardly ever argue but we don't see each other as frequently either. After being friends so long, it's much like family where if you do argue, you know you'll work it out because you have an almost unconditional love for one another.

Yes and no. They are more discussions. I feel everyone has a right to their own opinions and have a right to express them. I'm not going to get in an arguement with a friend because I don't necessarily agree with the way they feel about something. I can give them my opinion and they can take it or leave it. Use it the way they want or not. And I expect the same respect. I'm not always right. But in some situations, I'm not always wrong. And I can be right once in awhile. Maybe!!

Always, but in the end they're your best friend. It's just like your family... argue and shout, then the next day you go on like nothing happened. If they're your best friend, they will always forgive you because they really know who you are inside and just at that moment of time. Just at that time, they were in that certain moody mood everyone has. Fights make the relationship stronger i think.

hell yeah. we argue and fight all the time. but were usually cool in a while, a day at the most. and its mostly over retarded stuff, like boys, other friends. i evn got into a fist fight with one of my old best "friends." (shes just a regular friend now because of the fight.) we were just play fighting at first then she went to far by pushing me to the ground, pulling my hair. so i got up pushed HER to the floor and kicked her in her face. but nothing like this happens with REAL best friends.

yes....its normal for us to argue often......
but we get it over in less than a day... we talk about it...she listens to me and i listen to her....
we've been pretty strong best friends right now, and one reason why is because of arguing...

if the friendship didn't survive after 100 arguements, it wasn't a thue friendship!
