I am a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) scholar living in the Philippines? Being a J-1 student visa holder, I am obliged to do a 2-year residency in my home country? How can I waive the residency requirement? Any tips?

When your visa is about to run out, you van change the visa type. Usually the Philippine government is ready to help. They need hard cash for their institutions of higher learning and the only countries that pay the entire tuition is the USA, England, and Australia. It is worth getting a letter from an American professor that you know that was a teacher of yours. It is worth a try.
