No. There are infant drops. While I didn't bother asking the pediatrician about it, I think the direct administration of the medicine means faster ingestion and greater efficacy. IMHO, adding the medicine to the milk in the baby's bottle unduly dilutes the medicine itself, thereby reducing efficacy.

Against it. By putting in the bottle it dilutes it, therefore it is not going to work as well. I would consult your physician on better ideas. One thing, since the infant takes bottles, you could wait until you know it's hungry measure out the medicine in the syringe provided a little at a time use an empty bottle nipple and put the medicine in that,(you'll have to hold it for them) and let it suck on it, when it nears getting empty, put some more in until the dose is gone.

I don't think it would be wise to put your infant's medicine in the bottle to get them to take it, because the baby might not finish the bottle, and then you would be uncertain of the precise dosage they received. It would be better, if you felt the need to mask the medicine in some way, to mix the medicine with a small amount of formula and to give it together in a dropper, so that you are certain the correct dosage was given.

I had a medicine measure cup that fit in a bottle and put the nipple over it. I also had a pacifier type medicine cup. Some times it was the only way to get it down my kids. I wouldn't put the medicine in with the formula, it might cause adverse reactions.

I used to use just the nipple of the bottle to get my son to take his medicine. They actually make a dispenser for infants that resembles a nipple and has measurements on it, I have seen them at Wal-Mart. I think it is a lot easier than trying to use a spoon.

If your baby needs medicine, and the only way you can get the baby to take it is through a bottle, then good luck to you.

I've never put any medicine in their bottles... I was always to afraid of them not finishing it... I just gave them their medicine in one of those syringe things that the pharmacy gave me... I'd say that whatever works would be fine for any parent...

I often put medicine in a juice box or something sweet to get my son to take it. He has to take medicine every day and its tiring to fight him, so I just put it in the juice. He's old enough now that he knows I put the meds in, but he still drinks it.

The only time medicine should be administered to anyone particularly an infant is when it is needed. I think to give a child medicine it does not need simply to put it to sleep is abuse and is dangerous.
