oh well i guess i have to save this questions from expiration... thanks for all the replies... its amazing that many people actually have memories going that far back! against most knowledge about the early development of the human brain... its interesting...
I guess I should say my earliest memory as well... the earliest confirmed memory i have is of me looking under my parents bed and see my moms green sewing machine... i have no idea why i remember that but mom sold that machine when i was 2 or 3 years old... i also remember what could possibly be my first steps... but i am not sure... i remember not being sure of myself and then taking a few quick steps into the arms of a family friend... but that could even be my own halucinations :-D
for the best answer... since there's no right answer i'm choosing the one with the earliest memory... the one with the tunnel and race is a joke i've heard before... and the toe poking... i'm not sure we ever 'poked toes' to check reflexes... sorry

I have this vague recollection of a neighbor playing "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen very loudly, and just being able to hear the bass line. It's just like it repeats over and over. My parents tell me that I was about six months old when we were living in the house where it happened, and seem kind of puzzled that I would have any memory of it.

My earliest memory is speeding down this tunnel into a space where I had to race against others to get to the center of this big egg. LOL

I was between 1 and 2 looking at the toys hanging above my crib. I have several memories of when I was two.
Now if I could only remember my teenage years.

I am not sure which actually happened first but one was my mother dropping me off at day care and me screaming my head off and the other is fragments after a nasty car wreck...I was about 2 1/2 or so for each because my sister had not been born yet.

My earliest memory is running through a house that my parents just bought just before the furniture was moved in, and I was in just a diaper. I was about 2.

11 months (sitting on a potty with a sharp upper rim) and 1.5 years (refusing a rain coat since it appeared to be a girl's raincoat). My brother has memories going back to when he was 6 to 8 months old (watching his mother installing a window, which allowed the time fix).

I am not sure how old I was, somewhere around two I am guessing. I remember feeling very small with others looming over me. I remember thinking I know what is going on, but do not know how to communicate. It is not a visual memory, but like shadows, thoughts, and feelings.

I can remember when the doctors were poking my toes to check reflex and feeling just after I was born. I'm not kidding.

Watching my dad mow the lawn, and seeing a lizzard in the wheelbarrow with the cut grass.
I was almost 18months then.
