Kids love them for "show & tell" at school! Can be used in craft pojects like wreaths. Glue the tops on tight before wiring into the wreath. Mostly I just rake them up and but out with the trash. Too many under foot for walking and lawn mower blade! Squirrels are a big problem in some areas.

Oak trees are my favourite tree they can grow so large a child can have many happy hours playing on and around them

I don't think you are supposed to "do" anything with them. Leave them alone. The squirrels will eat them.
