What r the opportunities for M.Tech students thoes fron non CSE and non IT back ground?

i am gonig to complete my B.tech in 2007 .i have placed in CTS .at the same time i wrote the GATE i got 952 all India rank.i in dyanama to choose the right path please hlep in taking dicision?

First of all, congrats! You've not mentioned which branch are you from.

Since, GATE scores are valid for two years, you can try getting admission into IIT or any other prestigious college next year. Another option that I would suggest is to give GATE 2007 and improve your rank.

There are lots of opportunites for MTech students in IT companies such as Infosys (plus, of course, companies that work with your branch).

Do M.Tech. only if you are getting admission in a prestigious institute like IIT, top NITs etc. Otherwise, go for the CTS job (also apply for other companies next year, you might get better options).

M.Tech. from any normal college is useful only when you want to go into teaching line or research work.
