I mean as if he had been transported into a parallel universe where the other Bill Gates was broke and homeless.

well, it depends.... are there PC's in the other universe? Since Bill Gates invented the computer you are working on, and helped Steve Jobs build the apple... there would probably be no PC's. In that case I believe...after getting his bearings... he would immediately start doing exactly what he did - however they would start a lot faster than the original due to all the knowledge he brought with him.

NO, Bill would just find another avenue to make money. He's gopt a wife and kids that would give him a reason to live. Not every happy moment in life has to do with money.
