If the singe is melted completely down or near to the backing, the only thing can be done is plug it with another piece of carpet.
If the carpet is not too old, with wear or traffic pattern, it's possible.

A remnant or a piece from a closet may be utilized. The closet would be replaced with a remnant as close as can be found.
This would show no traffic, so the carpet cannot be worn to accept the plug.
An experienced mechanic, carpet installer, can do this best. With a plush carpet, it can be done well. Berbers and low loop pile may be visible.

On very small burns, like a cig, sometimes the burned fibers can be clipped. 'Fibers" from a rem or scrap, even from a corner of a closet, can sometimes be clipped and glued in the burn spot, and look pretty good.

Don't iron your carpet. I really don't think there is any way to remove a mark like that. You've melted the fibers. You can try to trim down the carpet where the melted spot it and see if it looks any better.

if the carpet is new, you could call the carpet store and a carpet tech can cut out the burn and patch in.

You should have said what type of carpet, but it was probably man made fibers. You will probably have to have someone in to patch it, they can fix it to be hardly noticeable.
