Why do acorns grow on an oak tree? shouldnt it be called an oaknut or should it grow on an acorn tree?

Peaches grow on a peach tree and no one seems to want to call that a "pit tree" even though the peach pit is a seed. I think you need to turn your brain power to solving more real problems of the world.

The same reason that Horse Chestnuts grow from conkers.
