Consumer reports states it is not a good car. I would stick with a Toyota or Honda any year, for a used car. Probes are bad.

the probe had alot of electrical issues. (1st gen)
the problems with the first gen hurt the sales of the second gen.

I have a 1989 ford probe with 250000 miles + on it, and it runs like its still new, I have had no problems with mine.

All of them I have seen have transmission problems.
