I've been diagnosed with eustation tube dysfunction because i have fluid in my ears casuing my right ear to feel blocked for over two months. I've tried sudafed, clarityn and octavine and have just been prescribed nasonex which my doctor said to try for ten days. Problem is i'm working in india for 6 months at end of sept so do i just go see an expensive specialist in the UK before i go if the nasal spray doesn't work or get treatment in india?

Try it before you go. It seems to help me. I tend to get ear infections frequently. The spray decreases the inflammation in the nasal passages and sinuses making it easier for your ears to drain.

A lot of so called sinus problems, headaches and glue ear problems are really caused by silent acid reflux coming up from your stomach. The answer is to change your diet, lose weight, not eat during the evening, stop smoking etc and sometimes it is necessary to see to the problem which may be a damaged splincter in the stomach which allows acid to rise up into the head / ears when it should not.
You can get an ear popper, a small machine which is natural, used to get rid of the fluid in the ear which is far cheaper than many medicines and totally without any side effects, but if the fluid comes from stomach it will simply be replaced by more later.

I have a son, Joey Niceforo, who is a young 27 year old tenor, with a group called "DESTINO" recording in Vancouver Bc, Canada.
For the last few weeks Joey has had a cold. Just a few days ago he developed an ear ache, a swollen ear and loss of hearing. He was diagnosed with serous otitis media (middle ear infection).
The major concern we have is that Joey and the Group DESTINO have been booked to open the Marie Osmond show in Disney World on April 3,
Have a quick remedy for our son??
Joey's ear got better just before flying.
He also got the special ear plugs for flying, and arrived in Florida, from Vancouver, on April 1st. On April 2nd he told us the ear was almost 100 percent, and he will, with the other, great DESTINO tenors be performing, in the COLORADO BALL ROOM DISNEY WORLD tonight at 7 pm.
This help was so effective, and helpful, to our young Canadian tenor, Joey Niceforo. I'm sure this input and therapy advice will, and has helped others.

I use to need this nasonex for my sinuses and swelling that blocked my nose ad breathing however have discontinued usage ...one it was too expensive and two less effective than one could care for your ear fluid problem is probably sinus related accounting for your DR.'s good advice however there are more effective alternative medical practices that get to the root cause of the problem and can clear it up for good ...I found a good Dr. to treat my deficiencies and changed to more credible diet practices lost weight got the benefit of good food and voila no more problems a multitude of cure from simple dietary changes
now I benefit from the phytochemicals found in fresh vegetables and fruits less the fats and other poisons associated with large intakes of meats poultry's fish and dairy products also eliminated sulfites and drink a gallon of water a day to help flush acids and other wastes from my system I've never felt better and I l've lost 60 lbs so far....... also India is known for better medicine aside from trauma then most anywhere in the world and good prices

You can get some water out stuff to put in your ear at the drug store (ask the pharmacist). Or you can just use rubbing alcohol. It does the same thing, which is dry up water. I have used both immediately after swimming. I would be concerned however, that your condition has lasted 2 days. These homemade remedies might get the water out but not cure any infection you may have developed. It might be time to go to the doctor. Good luck.

Yes I have been on Nasonex. Its to help relieve sinus and allergy problems which can affect the ears as well. I don't know about the ears, but It did work for me. Remember sinus's and drainage do go one on one with the ear as well. They all work together. My doctor prescribed it to me when my sinus's caused my ears to become blocked or clogged. The tube that runs from the ears to the sinus was clogged and the Nasonex did the job.. I recommend it highly. ~~~~~~~~~~!!!!

Get treatment in India. They have modern medical treatment there and it's much cheaper.
