Like anything doing it to much can cause harm. Yeast infections (female), urinary track infections (both male and female), And as one poster stated it can effect future sexual relationships as when you masturbate you are doing it differently then when you are doing it with another. You will not get the same satisfaction as you would have if you had not been masturbating. But when you find someone to share sexual relations with, if you can stop masturbation you can begin to be satisfied again with having sexual activity with another. but sometimes not.

Unless you rub yourself raw, maturbation can improve your health by avoiding sexually transmitted diseases you might otherwise risk.

Masturbation, regardless of what some are claiming, will not "overstimulate" your hormones or turn you into a sex fiend. If you get hairy palms, it's because you are a werewolf, not because of masturbation.

Other than irritation from friction and no lubricant, the only negative I can think of would be for a man who is trying to father a child, since multiple ejaculations in a very short period of time will decrease the sperm count. Or if you have OCD and simply can't stop to attend to other necessities like food, bathing, school and work.

As you get older, the frequency is likely to decrease on its own. It's not a a big deal unless you make it into one because it's normal.

No side effects at all! Unless you are totally obsessed with it and ignoring other aspects of your life (very rare!), it's completely normal, healthy and fun. Substantial short and long term mental and physical benefits for both men and women. Truly one of the joys in life and don't let anyone (including those religious wackos!) tell you otherwise! ENJOY!!!

There is no benefit to masturbation. Sorry I can't justify your little hormonal splurges. Semen is naturally excreted in nocturnal emissions, or wet dreams. I know a lot of people that say they've never had one. It makes for better, more satisfying dreams, making you more relaxed and ready for the day.

Frequent masturbation and ejaculation stimulate acetylcholine/parasympathetic nervous functions. Excessive stimulation can result in over production of sex hormones and neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine, dopamine and serotonin.

Abundant and unusually large amount of these hormones and neurotransmitters can cause the brain and adrenal glands to perform excessive dopamine-norepinephrine-epinephrine conversion and turn the brain and body functions to be extremely sympathetic. In other words, there is a big change of body chemistry when one excessively masturbates.

Masturbation is a healthy sexual behavior. Like other behaviors, when over practiced or addicted it can lead to both psychological and physiological imbalances.

Rugburn-chaffing-blindness:) Just kidding to my knowledge there are no negative effects unless like with anything if you over do it. If you do it too much you may desensitize that area and spoil the real thing with your partner. But that is probably more the case with women and sex toys.

Chinese say it wastes/disipates your "chi"... your vital energy. Jackie Chan's mother strictly forbade him to do it, as a youth ... so the story goes!

Maybe ... ask your Mom!

There are NONE. Everything you have heard are what we say are "old wives tales". You do not go blind for example. It does not affect your future sex life.
