Try the Washington Mayfair Hotel....My wife and I stayed there for a week and it was fantastic. It is located in Mayfair area, very quaint, safe upscale area only 15 minute walk to Picadilly Circus, and near Buckingham Palace. Really great hotel, and we got a good rate on it at www.laterooms.com

there is no such thing as a hotel at a reasonable price in London you are better off going in a hostel there are plenty to choose from on the net and they are cheap and really pleasant to stay in,you dont have to share a room with others if you dont want to either.

Elena Hotel is Islington under £50 and scrummy brekkie. Penn Club - no frills because Quaker, but lovely lovely place - also under £50 and money goes to charitable causes... and near Euston and Kings X

We stayed at the Park International on Cromwell Road. It is reasonable and nice. Close to the tube.
