My husband woke me this morning to tell me the horrible news, he was one of my favorites to watch on animal planet. Atleast he died doing what he loved.
Steve will be very much missed.

Global News Network Coverage - As the world mourns the death of Steve Irwin, "The Crocodile Hunter," police continue to investigate his freakish death. Was Irwin really killed in an accident or was he murdered by a jealous crew member? The barbed spike of a stingray leaves a wound that looks very much like a serrated knife or bayonet wound, Cairns police have stated. John Stainton, Irwin's manager, is quoted as asking, "Who was there, who witnessed the attack?" Police are questioning multiple witnesses in connection with the attack, apparently trying to determine if there is room for suspicion surrounding his death. The incident is still under investigation.

I just heard about it today!!! (its labor day) I can't believe it!At least he died with his boots on doing what he loved... I used to watch the show all the time with my dad and sister when i was little... it got annoying after a while. But that is so sad! I read in an old article (before he died) "if he died, he would be sad if it wasnt videotaped." I didn't think he would ever die.. like it kind of feels like he was some super-human who was immune to death and would never die doing his job! he knew what he was doing.. I'm very surprised!

I used to watch the show a long time ago, but havent seen it since shortly after Bindi Sue was born. Even still, I am seriously bummed to hear about his death. My heart goes out to Terri, Bindi Sue and his son.

Yes, I heard that.. I liked that guy.. I admired his bravery. He also loved his children very very much. Its very sad, I thought if he were to ever die, it would of been by an accident due to a crock. I can't believe it. Maybe his little girl will follow his footsteps. She said on National TV, that she wanted to be just like her daddy!! She is so cuteeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Poor thing..

It's sad, also slightly ironic that after all these years of stepping on rattle snakes he is killed by a stingray.
