Right click in the desktop screen , choose properties/Desktop/ then click the other background picture you want or leave it blank by choosing none

Right, this is probably a file that you found on the internet, right-clicked, and chose "Set as desktop background".

Assuming Windows XP, In that case the original file will be in a subdirectory

C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\
Application Data\
Mozilla\Firefox\Desktop Background.bmp

or in a similar directory for Internet Explorer if you were using that browser.

Browse down to those directories from Windows Explorer and look for the likely file ... or do a search for "Desktop Background.bmp" or .jpg and you might get lucky.

p.s. I'm running Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] ... Home Edition.

Good luck.

Obviously you have not deleted the picture. You must find the source for that picture and delete it. Maybe replacing the wallpaper with another picture temporarily will get the undesireable picture to stop showing up.

When you set a wallpaper, a copy of that image is made in your windows folder (I assume you are using windows)... The exact folder would depend on which flavour of windows you are using(98, XP,..) check your system folders for images... you should find it lying there.
