I meant as an individual rather than as an interaction between myself and the environment - why, that would just be silly,though somewhat amusing; we wouldn't want that would we?
Based on actual events - I was swinging from a rope and went outwards, upwards and clean off the end,closely followed by downwards towards the ground a long way below.
There was time to contemplate the implications of my actions.

Well, assuming you weren't deaf you'd hear it but however that is nothing to do with whether you would make a sound yourself.

If indeed you did not break your neck on the way down then probably you would make a sound that would start rather loudly and end in feeble groans and moans of pain.

The other possibility is that you die as you are falling in which case you have to ask the philosophy lot.

I recommend not climbing the tree in first place.

Yes. There would be this horrific crashing through brush sound, followed up by a solid "THUD" ending with blood curdling screams of pain.

And finally - there would be a fit of laughter ending the whole scene. Woodland squirrels never seen a human being do such a dumb thing. :-)

For Christ's sake, give us a rest from these same old questions, time after time after time. By the way, you probably WOULD make a sound, and if I eventually stumbled across you some time later, I'd leave you there. That would be less to ask the same old cr ap
- and to think, all of these people have even bothered to respond !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

The equation for sound pressure (p) is p = F/A where
F = force
A = area

As you see, "nobody being there to hear it" is not a factor in the above equation, so you would definitely make a sound.

Yes because for a start off you would be there to hear it and secondly sound is there whether someone hears it or not.

You would scream like a ***** as you bounced off the branches on the way down.

Happy landings

even if you are ignoring the rules of physics and all that sound waves produced by bla bla bla, yes. the thing is that you are already there to hear the sound you made and therefore you could say that you made a sound. (:

Yes. I believe that sound would be a word not said in polite conversation.
