Yes - Gulfair is operating several flights internationally. It is owned by Sheikh of UAD. Very well maintained and safe airline. The fares are also comparable. You can safely undertake journies by the airliner.

The profile of the company is -

Gulf Air were initially set up in 1974 to operate as the national airline of four of the smaller states in the Arabian Gulf - Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and the emirate of Abu Dhabi. Since the initial establishment of Gulf Air, fierce local competition has arrived in the form of Qatar Airways and the two Emirati airlines, Emirates and Etihad.

Yes indeedy! THE WORST flights of my life. I walked onto the old shabby, smelly plane, crapet curling at the corners, ready for a 23hr flight - uurrrggghhh. I got very sick, and the nasty airhostess wouldn't give me fresh air sick bags until the old one was 'full' - it was just awful. Compared with Qantas, JAL, Thai, BA and basically any other world carrier they are horrific. Apparently they ahve one or two new planes which are impressive, but I most certainly was not on one of them on any of the 4 gulf flights I've had - stay away!!!!
