I saw about that too! He was going diving with his friend, and his wife was hiking in Tasmania, and I heard, she doesn't even know yet.... They said that when a stingray is swimming away from a shark (tiger shark's eat them) and a diver or someone is near, they can't tell the difference between the shark and the diver. They're so terrified, sometimes the just panic and sting what's ever in their way that might try to attack them. But stingray's aren't known to sting humans. That's was it said on the news. His youngest kid is only, like, 2. It's surprising, you would think he would have gotten killed by a crocodile. It's so sad. Well, he died doing what he loved.

How terribly sad for his family,I always thought it would be a crocodile that did him in. He will be missed.

I'm still not sure this is true. I checked it out on Urban Legends and Snopes, and they both say it is not true...
There have been a lot of bogus reports of his death over the years and I am wondering if this is another one?

That's an awful loss for his young children and his wife.
He was a great leader for conservation and understanding of our world's reptiles.
