when i find a color i like, and i get the html code for it to put it in my aim profile, it ends up being a different color than what it was on the website. why does it do this?
also, does anyone know a website with good color schemes?

Only 216 colors are, what we refer to as "browser-safe".

Browsersafe colors are colors that looks the same no matter which browser you see them on.

The reason is that different browsers running on different platforms interpret the colors differently. The only 216 colors that looks the same no matter what, are the colors made out of pairs of 00, 33, 66, 99, CC and FF.

Colors are usually made up of 3 bytes - Red, Green and Blue. Sometimes the order of the bytes changes from one program to another. You might try taking your color numbers and swapping the two bytes on each end and seeing if the color becomes the one you wanted. When the colors are in hexadecimal such as ACD3C4 then each byte is 2 digits. Swapping the end bytes on this example would give C4D3AC .

you can change colors of html page by setting background colouryou can change the color of fonts by setting font color(in font tag give color=color code)

you can pick attractive colors from other websites....
save the web page you want
open that page in any html editing softwares(dreamweaver,interdev,frontpage etc) select that color..pick its color code.......

you can use that color code in your webpage also
