Though the point you make is mildly amusing because it is so crass, I would ask if you can look another human being directly in the eye? Can you bear to see the fear in which some of these people live or are you so divorced from your own humanity, you fail to recognize that their eyes could be yours...?
Unless of course they are thumping on a bible, which would explain their mental incapacity to obtain a job...(!).

I actually give them what I can. Whether it be water, tea, juice, money, food. If I have something that is unopened I will give it willingly, if I have nothing unopened, I will give what money I can.
