they ran a scroll saying that all of steve's programs are temporarily suspended out of respect to his family

Animal Planet DID acknowledge Steve Irwin last night, Monday, September 4th. They ran several half hour shows about him. They also aired his scheduled 6:00 p.m. show today.
On Sunday, September 10, Animal Planet U.S.
plans to air an all-day marathon tribute featuring the Best of the Croc Hunter. Animal Planet International in markets around the world will provide the same programming.

JIM JAM your freakin face weirds me out you look like some dirty old ped, PLEASE DON"T TARNISH STEVES NAME! he was so devoted and passionate to his work, and was the best guy ever to his family!! I know Animal Planet should make some kind of acknowledgement this guy has done soo soo much!!

They may have acknowledged it already.....but waiting the mourning of his death to calm first. They want to show what he was remembered for. Mourning is not the right time to do so though.

Because it's a holiday weekend and all their programming is run automatically. There's probably one engineer there monitoring the playback.
