hi. good question. many reasons to your pain. a) the anesthetic did not work, i.e.it was not effective b) the "a" was not in sufficient amount c) it was not introduced into your system/body the right way d) your body does not recognize this type of anesthetic d) the dentist is not competent e) your dentistry pain is deeper than what the dentist recognized f) it is all in your mind -- you just wanted to cry (eye watering) --which has nothing to do with the anesthetic -- g) it is a combination of all or some of these factors put together...hope it helps. good recovery.

I have Trigeminal Neuralgia (a painful nerve disorder) on the left side of my face. For some reason, my gums will not get numb on that side. I have to have dental work done by a surgeon.

i had this problem a few weeks ago,
my problem was that i had an infection in my impacted wisdom tooth and had to be given antibiotics for a week before the work could be done
maybe you have an infection
