It's a legal, paid holiday the Feds came up with years ago to honor the working force. (If it wasn't for the people that work their butts off, all the people who don't wouldn't be getting their monthly check). Because there is several months between Independence day and Thanksgiving, they thought there needed to be an additional day smack dab in the middle of those 2 holidays. It's a day to celebrate being American, to eat, drink and be marry, and recover from all the football parties over the weekend. (And to give the hard working Americans an extra paid day off. ) It's a good thing

websters dictionary says its the first monday in september in the u.s. and canada in honor of labor . i know you have some holidays we dont have kinda neat what we all celebrate
