I don't know, but I'll bet you could join the Mommy and Me classes. With as many grandparents taking care of grandkids, they ought to have grandma and me!!

Something else you may want is take her for walks to a park if there is one nearby. You can take a blanket and some of her toys or books and just have a grandma and granddaughter day. One thing I remember was my grandma letting me watch her bake cookies and biscuits, homemade cookies and biscuits. Try sitting her up in a seat near you as you bake (but in a safe area) and talk to her as you cook. Let her taste the batter or hold a spoon while you are at it. When my daughter was that age, I'd put her in a child seat in the middle of the kitchen table and dance around while I was cooking, making silly faces at her. She's 4 now and I still let her sit nearby on the counter as I cook (out of reach of the stove), dance and make silly faces.

You're right to want to get out! Some classes are called Baby and Me now because dads and grandmas are caregivers, too. There's a stroller club on Tuesdays at 10:30 at your YMCA. I like going to those with my kids. It will probably be mostly moms, but it's all about having adult time talking and exercising with your kids. Look at activities at your library, too.

Go to the classes. Don't let the name bother you. When my daughter was young we went to those classes and there were plenty of Dads and Grandparents attending. I met alot of nice people and was able to do get togethers with them outside of the classes. You can also check with your town and see if they have a recreation department where they offer other programs for the little ones, you might even find a program for yourself to do when you are not baby sitting. Good luck.

She is old enough, you can take her outdoors. A walk in the park, a stroll in the department store. The kid would love all the new sights. Just join a mommy & me class.

If you google it i bet you can fine a group of women in the same boat. Many grandmothers are caregivers to their grandkids, and iam sure there are play groups or support groups. Or you could always start one yourself.
Another good place to start is online support groups, they help network people in any given area.
