you'll be fine...just keep the cut clean and dry. any germs from the chicken have probably already been killed by your body...only those with really weak immune systems will be susceptible to infections from a little ol' cut. besides, salmonella is more a gastrointestinal germ, meaning it's only harmful if you ingest it...but cooking at a high enough temperature will kill the bacteria, so no worries there.

My aunt plucked her own chickens for cooking when I was a child and didn't die till the ripe old age of 90. A lot time after she was no longer cooking for herself.
Getting a cut, alone, won't cause death, BUT it can cause an infection. Also, yes, meats can carry certain germs. If the cut still stings, then it won't hurt to talk to your dr. about it, especially if the area is getting red where the cut was. The redness can be a sign of infection starting.
The first thing to do when you get a cut is to clean the wound with a little soap and water. Flush it out. Then I put on some antibiotic cream and a bandaid.
Now, since all the hassle of the bird flu and meat "germs" are the fear factor these days, you can always call up your dr.'s nurse and ask. She can then tell you if you really need to come in.

First wash your cut well with soap and water, then use some hydrogen peroxide to get at any immediate infection, then put some neosporin ointment on it. If it continues to get redder or starts swelling you will need to see a doctor.
You can die from even a paper cut if not treated properly. Chances are you are going to live. The body has natural antibodies that fight infections, but you should assist that no further infection gets in.

It is unlikely that you'll die from such a small cut, but it is possible, especially if you haven't had a tetanus shot.
If the cut is red, swollen or infected you should probably go see a doctor, but if it just looks like a normal cut then put some disinfectant on it and check it a couple of times a day.

well, did you disinfect it with alcohol and put the neosporin and sterile bandage on it? i doubt the salmonella in the chicken could've gotten to you because my mom got plenty of cuts when cutting chicken and she isn't dead yet... if the cut looks infected, then go a doctor IMMEDIATELY...
good luck!
