I think in most instances, people become wilder after staying in jail, although a short stay may be enough to shock someone into obedience of the law.

I spent one day in a jail holding cell, and it was the most wretched day of my life. When I was checked in in front of the men's holding cell, there was a man masturbating behind me. And the women who were placed with me in the women's holding cell were cursing the guards with such vile language, it was obvious the guards had become accustomed to this treatment because those girls got what they wanted and I was left to wonder what was happening even though I tried to be respectful with "please" and "thank you," in hopes it was something they didn't frequently hear.

One of the other girls even resorted to some of the worst language I've even heard when she called her grandmother and her grandmother told her that she didn't have the money to pay the traffic ticket to get her out of there!

If anyone is around such people for an extended period, it's bound to have an effect.

I've studied and read about this to some degree and b/c of the hostle enviornment they become wild they are restless and they can turn on each other in prison (it happened with they jews in concentration camps and they were all innocent) so imagine what people would be like who really commited crimes to be put into prison.

It depends on what kind of a person they are. If they're inherently criminal, they'll become more wild because they'll need to rebel. If they're not really a bad person, I'd say they'd calm down.
