I took 2 thousands. I set my goal on what machines to play and how much I wanted to play on the machines.I found inexpensive restaurants to eat daily.I went sightseeing at Hoover Dam, Ethel Mars chocolate factory and saw a show. In your hotel room there is usually a magazine with discount shows that you can see with a low price. Now I suspect you don't smoke but at the airport in the smoking room those slot machines are HOT.I made a little cash while waiting on my plane. I enjoyed Vegas and it is the city that never sleep. Take the bus along the strip instead of a cab, buy a 1 day pass and visit the hotels along the strip and wear comfortable shoes. Good Luck.

The Bellagio is an excellent choice. It is centrally located and very upscale with lots of amenities. Three full days and nights are just the bare minimum if you are going to see and do stuff that do not require gambling. I would shoot for 4 full days and 4 nights to see most stuff on the Strip and Downtown. Add a day if you plan on seeing a couple of shows. If you intend to do stuff outside of Vegas (Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, Mt Charleston, Lake Meade, Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Zion, etc,) then you will need about 6 days. Don't forget the travel time on the day you are arriving and the day you go home. That will cut into your total time in Vegas. Since this is your first time, you will want to get it all in so if you leave after 3 days, it will be a tease for you because you won't be able to experience all there is to do and see.

As someone who lived in Las Vegas for many yrs., I can tell you. Do Not take more cash with you than you can afford to lose. Do not take a credit card ( it is too easy to use). Never go into debt just to gamble. If you stick to these rules you can have a wonderful time without any worry. You do not have/need to drive as the cab drivers are excellant and knowledgable about everything going on so no rental cars therefore no credit card needed.....Enjoy

Las Vegas is very fun. You can see the world in one day when you go on the strip. You should take a lot of money if you enjoy gambling. If you are going to site see you should go to the Hoover Dam, and lake Mead. There are several malls which include factory outlets.....I think it depends on what you want to do more shopping, gambling or site see.

How much do you gamble a day is the big question. If you play craps and buy in for $300/session & play 2 sessions/day. Then you should be packing between $1-2k for gambling and $100/day spending money.
If you are conservative on the gambling & only plan on risking $200-250/day then you should be ok w/ $1000.

Set a gambling budget and add at least $100-$250 per day for shopping/sightseeing and meals, depending on your taste.

i would stay with in a limit so you don't spend to more than you
want to but i would say 1000 a day would be enough and then some if your not a big spender 500 a day would do it to just play the .25cents and penny slots it just depends on how big of a gambler you are good luck hope you enjoy your trip
